In 2014, over 22 million commercial passengers traveled through BWI airport. The top destination and origin cities for flights to and from BWI in 2014 were Las Vegas, Atlanta, Boston, Orlando and Ft. Lauderdale.

The airport has an observation gallery and children's play area that is open the public. It is located between Concourses B and C on the upper level. Visitors can watch airplanes through large windows and browse aviation museum and art gallery exhibits.
