Some attractions for which Boca Raton is well-known include the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center, Sugar Sand Park and the Boca Museum of Art. The 132-acre Sugar Sand Park is home to a range of family-friendly activities, including a Carousel, Science Playground, Willow Theatre and Children's Science Explorium. There is also a building called Field House that houses an indoor gym. Sugar Sand Park is open from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., Monday to Saturday, and until sunset on Sundays. Some of the attractions within the park have different opening or operating hours.
Another well-known Boca Raton attraction, the Boca Museum of Art, re-opened in a new location in 2001 and features indoor and outdoor artworks, including the sculpture garden. It also hosts film screenings, special tours and a program of events specifically designed for families with children. Admission to the museum is free for children under 13, members and students with ID. It is free for everyone on the first Sunday of each month.
