Visitors can travel up 203 steps to the top of the Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse to get great views of the Atlantic Ocean and Intracoastal Waterway. Playgrounds for younger children are nearby.
The Marine Science Center in nearby Ponce Inlet provides displays and shows that educate kids and adults on the area's wildlife and conservation efforts. The Reptile Discovery Center has a collection of live reptiles, and visitors can even see live venom extraction.
Families can participate in a 20-minute tour of the Angell & Phelps Chocolate Factory to observe the product being made. As of 2015, the tours are available Monday through Saturday at select hours. Blue Heron River Tours is a cruise boat river tour that lets participants view the area's wildlife in its native habitats, complete with interactive narration from the boat captain.
