How Do You Find a DS-160 Form?

The DS-160 Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application form and instructions are available from the U.S. Department of State Consular Electronic Application Center website. From the homepage, select DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application underneath NONIMMIGRANT in the main navigation area.

Before beginning the application, gather a passport, travel itinerary, resume or curriculum vitae, and a list of the dates of your last five visits or trips to the United States, recommends the U.S. Department of State. If applicable, locate your SEVIS ID for students and exchange visitors, and a copy of the I-20 for petition-based temporary workers.

Select the location for which you are applying, using the drop-down menu underneath Get Started, and then click Start an Application. A generated Application ID is present in a white box on the top right side of the page. Write down this ID, and store it in a secure place for future use, states the U.S. Department of State.

Select a security question in the Security Question drop-down menu at the bottom of the page, and supply the answer in the box below. As per the rules listed on the Bureau of Consular Affairs website, all answers throughout the entire application must be in English. Write down both the security question and the answer, and store them in a secure place. Click Continue to continue to the next page.

Follow the instructions, and fill in the requested information for each section, explains the U.S. Department of State. To continue the application process at a later date, click Save at the bottom of the page. The previously created Application ID and security question answer are necessary to access the saved application in the future.

At the end of the Security and Background section, select the Review page to review previously submitted answers, and choose the Sign page to place an electronic signature on the application before submitting it.
