The calculator allows the entry of either the city name or the airport code. If entering the name of a city with multiple airports, the calculator requires you to select the airport you are flying to or from. Next, enter optional items if necessary. Optional items allow for additional cities to be added to the calculation. In some cases, airlines award additional frequent-flyer miles when additional stops require flying a greater distance.
If eligible for an elite bonus, click on the drop-down menu, and select the applicable bonus percentage. Some flights award a class of service bonus. If this applies, click on the drop-down menu next to the tab marked Class of Service, and select the percentage award. If a special bonus award is available, select the percentage from the drop-down menu. When selecting any of these bonuses, choose whether the award is based on actual mileage or a minimum mileage.
Enter the cost of the airline ticket, and click on the How Far? button to see the total air miles award for the flight.Learn more about Geography
