Some different Grand Turk Island excursions include dune buggy riding on the beach with Zoom Zoom Tours, going parasailing with Ocean Parasail and taking a sunset horseback ride on the beach with Sunset Rides and Tours. Snorkeling and diving excursions are also available around the island, including at Grand Turk Diving Co. Scuba divers must be certified, but lessons are available on site. It takes at least four days to complete the course.
Zoom Zoom Tours, located in Cockburn near the cruise ship terminals, leads escorted off-road tours on dune buggies or four-wheeled ATVs. The tours follow the coast, leading to sandy beaches, and they explore the middle of the island on remote ATV trails. Tours operate rain or shine, since getting wet and dirty is part of the fun. Cruise ship passenger tours are booked separately to better coordinate with their time in port.
Ocean Parasail offers the chance to head out on the water on a fast boat and then take to the air in a single, double or triple harness. Take-offs and landings are from a special platform on the back of the boat. The parasail climbs to a height of 500 feet, giving participants a panoramic view of the island and ocean.
Sunset Rides and Tours offers beach only, trail only and combined horseback rides. After an evaluation ride, guests are paired with horses that match their skill levels. The horses are gentle and quite comfortable in the water; some even swim out into the waves. Riders should expect to get wet.
