Pullman Rail Journeys regularly travels between Chicago and New Orleans and has limited service to Albuquerque and Denver from Chicago. There is a daily departure on the Chicago-to-New Orleans route, and there are no other stops along the way.
Pullman service to Albuquerque is limited to a travel package for the annual Balloon Festival in October. There is also a round-trip travel package available from Chicago to Denver on limited dates.
The regular Chicago-New Orleans trips run on an overnight schedule and generally take about 20 hours if there are no significant delays. Tickets include variety of sleeping quarters. The most basic accommodation is a bunk bed in the open section, with a curtain for privacy. Single-occupancy roomettes and bedrooms and double-occupancy bedrooms and master bedrooms are also available.
Guests are provided with towels, linens and a small amount of closet space. Robes are available upon request. Showers are only available in some room types, and those without must schedule a shower time with the conductor or porter. Public showers are cleaned in between each guest's use.
Amenities on the train include free WiFi, dining and entertainment. WiFi may cut out for a time while the train is passing through rural areas, however. The dining car serves three meals that are included in the rail fare. Live performances also occur on some trips and include a variety of different types of musical acts.
