As of 2015, the Delta Queen does not cruise the Mississippi River, so no schedules are available. Instead, the steamboat is now the Delta Queen Hotel, a dockside hotel located in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The paddle-wheeled steamboat operated out of New Orleans from 1986 to 2008.
The Delta Queen, built in 1927, is a National Historic Landmark. It provided overnight river cruises on the Mississippi River until 2008, when its exemption to the Safety at Sea Act expired. Authorities determined that its aging structure did not meet the requirements to cruise with overnight passengers. Businessman Cornel Martin of New Orleans hopes to make extensive renovations so the Delta Queen can return to cruises as early as 2016.
