The Missouri River extends from Montana to Missouri. It is both long and wide and has been nicknamed the Mighty Mo and the Big Muddy. The river is a major waterway used in the transportation of goods.

As of 2014, the Missouri River is becoming increasingly polluted as fertilizer runs off the ground and into the water. As a result, there are 30 species of fish that are classified as endangered.
