Portland, Ore., is located in Multnomah County. The county was founded on Dec. 22, 1854. It has an area of 466 square miles and a population of 759,256 as of the 2012 census.

Part of Mount Hood National Forest is located in the county. Portland has many tourist attractions, including the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, the Oregon Convention Center, the Portland Art Museum, the Oregon Zoo and Washington Park.
