Parts of the Himalayan mountain range are located in India, Nepal, Pakistan, Butan, China and Afghanistan. The majority of the range is located in India, Nepal and Bhutan.
The highest point in the Himalayas is Mount Everest, which is located in Nepal and China. The third-highest peak, Kangchenjunga, is located on the border of India and Nepal. The fourth-highest mountain, Lhotse, is located on the border of Nepal and Tibet. The three ranges that make up the Himalayan range are known as the Outer Himalayas, the Greater Himalayas and the Lesser Himalayas. About 75 percent of Nepal is covered by the Himalayas.
