Thailand is the world's 51st largest country and is the 21st most populated, with a population of approximately 65 million. As of 2014, Thailand's political system is a constitutional monarchy; a hereditary monarch is the head of state, and a prime minister is the head of government. In 2014, Bhumibol Adulyadej, also known as Rama IX, became king of Thailand.
