As of March 2015, the Costa Serena cruise ship departs from Dubai and travels the Persian Gulf. Traveling the coast of the United Arab Emirates, the Costa Serena has ports of call in Muscat and Abu Dhabi. In April 2015, the Costa Serena plans to be repositioned in Shanghai, China.
Following the repositioning, Costa Serena intends to sail from Shanghai year-round, with ports of call in Japan and South Korea. The Costa Serena is a Concordia-class cruise ship operated by Costa Crociere, an Italian cruise line. Costa Serena's relocation from Dubai to Shanghai is part of Costa Crociere's business strategy to become the leader in China's quickly growing luxury cruise market.
