On What Continent Is Israel?

Israel is on the continent of Asia. It is part of the Middle East, which is located on the western edge of the Asian landmass.

Israel is also part of the Levant, the group of countries on the east coast of the Mediterranean Sea, a body of water which has linked the communities of southern Europe, northern Africa and the Levant for centuries. This constant cultural interaction has given these areas many cultural affinities, so Israel has many more cultural similarities with Greece and Egypt, which are on the European and African continents, respectively, than it does with countries in East or South Asia.
