Yellowstone National Park encompasses more than 3,000 square miles and borders several cities including Gardiner, Mont.; East Yellowstone, Wyo.; West Yellowstone, Mont.; and Cooke City, Mont.
Although many of the nearby cities of Yellowstone are located in Montana, the park is actually located in the northwest corner of Wyoming. More than 95 percent of the park is located within the state of Wyoming. The remaining 4 percent of the park is located in the states of Montana and Idaho. The closest airports to Yellowstone National Park are the regional airports located in Bozeman, Mont.; and Jackson Hole, Wyo. There are five total entrances to the park.
