The city lies on the northern end of the Bavarian Alps on the banks of the Isar River. Munich is home to six different breweries: Augustiner-Bräu, Hacker-Pschorr, Hofbräu, Löwenbräu, Paulaner and Spaten-Franziskaner-Bräu.
