To buy a train ticket to Chicago on Amtrak's website, passengers should locate the box on the left-hand side of the page. They should then click on One-Way or Round Trip. Next, passengers choose their city of departure. The site allows users to search for their nearest train station if they are unclear. Users also pick their intended arrival and departure dates, as well as any time preferences.
Amtrak offers discounts for seniors, military, AAA members and students, so passengers who qualify should choose one of those options on the drop-down menu to get the best rate. After the options are all chosen, users click Find Trains. The site then lists the possible routes to Chicago. Depending on the distance, some trains may include transfers.
