Check in for a Delta flight 24 hours before the scheduled departure of the flight by visiting Delta.com and selecting Check In. Enter the confirmation, SkyMiles, credit card or ticket number to access the reservation.
Follow the prompts to select passengers, and enter the number of checked bags. There are prompts that allow viewing or changing seating assignments, paying baggage fees and applying for upgrades. After making all the appropriate choices, changes and payments, print out the boarding pass. Alternatively, some airports allow the use of an eBoarding Pass delivered to your mobile phone. Upon arrival at the airport, drop off checked bags at the red Baggage Drop sign or at the curbside check-in station.
To use a smartphone to check in for a Delta flight online, download the Fly Delta app, which also allows you to obtain a boarding pass and pay for baggage. If flying to an eBoarding Pass-eligible city, you can opt to have an eBoarding Pass sent to your mobile device, from which TSA security and the gate agent can scan the eBoarding Pass.
If checking in online is not possible, check in at the airport using kiosk check-in or curbside check-in for fastest service. There are no additional fees for these check-in options, but gratuities are customary when the service is exceptional.
