The capital of España, or Spain, is Madrid. It is located in center of the Iberian Peninsula in the southwestern part of Europe. The Spanish royal family resides there. España is also the home of the Spanish government.

The city of Madrid, which has been the capital of España since 1562, connects to all of the cities in Spain by either train, road or air. It is the center hub for all travel in Spain and a popular tourist destination.

The climate of the capital city features warm, dry summers and cool winters. Both culture and amusement attractions are located within the city, including the Royal Palace, the Plaza Mayor and numerous museums.
