The Cape of Good Hope is located on the southern tip of Africa on the eastern side. It is part of the country of South Africa.
By some accounts, this cape was originally called the Cape of Storms. However, it received the name the Cape of Good Hope because it marked a way to get from Europe to India. True to the legend, the area can be quite stormy.
Visitors to the area can stay in Cape Town and visit the cape by day as well as other area attractions, such as the town of Stellenbosch, which is known for its wines.
