Full Answer

A motorist who drives regularly on toll roads in the E-ZPass network can open an account to pay for tolls via a transponder that he fixes to the car windshield. The E-ZPass network extends from Maine to North Carolina and across to Illinois, excluding Connecticut and Vermont. FasTrak also offers this type of road-toll payment system to drivers in California, where electronic payment is required for all toll roads. Five different FasTrak payment methods exist, including a One-Time-Toll method for non-account holders. Florida's SunPass is also an electronic prepaid toll system.
