The Amalfi Coast lies in West Central Italy along the Gulf of Salerno, a rugged stretch of coastline characterized by steep slopes and quaint Italian villages. The Amalfi coast runs from Positano east to Salerno, stopping at some larger towns along the way such as Praiano, Furore and Ravello. UNESCO lists this stretch of coastline as both a cultural site and a top example of Mediterranean landscape.
