The Gold Point Ghost Town, a once thriving mining town in the 1860s, is still intact, but there are only around 30 residents that still live there. Other noteworthy ghost towns in Nevada include Belmont, Dixie Valley, Metropolis, Lucky Jim Camp and Rio Tinto. Many of these are completely abandoned mining towns and visitors are advised to use caution when visiting these locations.
