Online interactive maps of Scotland are published on SNH.gov.uk and ScotlandWelcomesYou.com, as of April 2015. The latter map uses Google's mapping service, while the former does not. Both maps allow users to click and drag to move the focal point.
Both maps show more detail the closer the user zooms in, revealing roads, cities, areas of greenery and bodies of water.
Scotland covers more than 30,000 square miles and is the second-largest territory in the United Kingdom. It shares a 60-mile southern border with England, and its coastline is longer than 7,300 miles. Scotland's largest lake is Loch Lomond at 27.5 square miles, and its longest river is River Tay at 120 miles.
