Travelers can redeem their air miles for travel on the websites of the airlines with which they have accumulated points. Delta, United and American Airlines enable travelers to enter air mile points when they book their flights online. Some websites also have mileage calculators for determining correct miles usage.
To redeem air miles with Delta Airlines, travelers can visit Delta.com and choose their desired departure and arrival points and dates of travel. The website then pulls up a list of relevant flights. Some of the flights have a Pay with Miles notification, meaning that Delta members can use their air miles (called Sky Miles for Delta) on that flight. After searching through and choosing from the Pay with Miles list, travelers can select the number of miles they wish to use.
Both United and American Airlines also enable eligible travelers to redeem air miles on qualifying flights in a similar manner. Travels can simply choose qualifying flights and enter their miles for redemption. In addition, all three airlines have more options for redeeming miles. For example, United Airlines allows travelers to use a certain number of miles on qualifying vacations, hotel stays, car rentals and tours. American Airline patrons can subscribe to a number of airline periodicals using their miles.
