The Blackfoot Indian tribe was more commonly known as Blackfoot in Canada and as Blackfeet in the United States. As the map shows, the tribe's lands in the Northern Plains were largely in Montana and Idaho in the United States and Southern Alberta in Canada. The tribe was most concentrated in northern Montana, bordered by other tribes including the Crow, Gros Ventre, Kootenai, Kalispel and Flathead Salish.
