Google Maps provides a map of Roatan, Honduras in different types of views. The Map view is similar to a regular map, the Earth view has a satellite overlay that lets users see the island from above and the Terrain view highlights the terrain in Roatan Island.
On the Google Maps homepage, click inside the search tool and type Roatan. Roatan is the long and narrow island displayed horizontally on the map. By zooming out of the map, the popular mapping program shows the relationship of Roatan to the Caribbean, the United States and Central America. The search tool allows users to explore hotels, restaurants and resorts in the island, as well as get directions on how to explore the island on foot or by using a car or a bus.
Roatan is located in the Western Caribbean, 35 miles off the North Coast of Honduras. It is the long strip of island between Guanaja and Utila. Together, the three islands make up the Bay Islands of Honduras. The most popular town in the island is Coxen Hole or Roatan Town, the capital of the Bay Islands and the largest city on the island. Coxen Hole is also the location of Juan Manuel Galvez International Airport, the only airport in the Bay Islands of Honduras.
