As of February 2015, there are 100 nuclear power reactors in the United States, 99 of which are licensed to operate, according to the NRC. These reactors are concentrated mainly in the Midwest, Southeast and Northeast. Most Western states do not have nuclear reactors. Some areas with many reactors include northern Illinois, eastern Pennsylvania, and North and South Carolina.
