To find a list of Metrolink train routes and plan a trip:
The Metrolink website offers several resources for finding available stations, including the trip planner, station finder and interactive map.
Review available routes and timetables by utilizing the trip planner, visiting a station or by calling (800) 371-5465, as of March 2015. The Metrolink website advises riders to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to departure.
Riders can purchase tickets at the ticket vending machines on the train platforms. Some tickets will also need to be validated at one of the ticket validators on the platforms before boarding. Tickets must be purchased before boarding and are not available on the trains. While on board, fare inspectors may require riders to present valid tickets.
Once the route is planned and tickets are purchased, riders should board the appropriate trains at the station. Multiple trains board at the same stations, so riders should ensure they are boarding the proper train. After riders have reached their destination, they can use their tickets on a variety of available connections, including some buses or shuttles.
