As of 2015, HomeFacts.com lists 37,576 fire stations in the United States. California, with 2,745, has the largest number of fire stations of any state. The search engine provides comprehensive information about the fire stations it lists, including stations' physical addresses, mailing addresses and phone numbers.
HomeFacts.com lists other pertinent information, such as the most common hazards and disasters for a given address, including statistical susceptibility to fire and other natural disasters such as earthquakes, hurricanes and floods.
The U.S. Fire Administration, at USFA.FEMA.gov, does not provide as comprehensive a list of fire stations as HomeFacts.com, but it provides more information about the individual stations it does list. For example, it informs users whether the fire station listed is a volunteer fire department, a federally operated station, or a private department operated by career fire fighters. The USFA also provides links to the websites of individual departments and stations listed on its site.Learn more about Geography
