The home page of the GovTrack website has a "Members of Congress" link on its navigation bar which takes site visitors to a page where entering the state name Massachusetts will bring up a list of that state's representatives. Massachusetts currently has a total of nine congressional districts. This is one less than the 10 districts the state possessed prior to the mandatory restructuring of districts that resulted from the low state population growth figures collected by the 2010 census.
As of February 2015, all nine of the state representatives from Massachusetts and the state's two senators are members of the Democratic Party. Three of Massachusetts' congressional districts reflect the heavily populated Boston area. The other six districts represent the Brookline, Cape Cod, Lowell, Salem, Springfield and Worcester areas. The longest-serving Massachusetts congressman is Jim McGovern, who has retained his seat since January 3, 1997.
