Where can you find current information on the price of gas in your area?

Quick Answer

Local gas price information is available through GasBuddy.com and the U.S. Department of Energy's FuelEconomy.gov website. Gas Buddy lists prices, from low to high, on its home page for U.S. states and for cities and provinces in Canada. A location search is available using city, state or zip code.

Users on FuelEconomy.gov choose from a drop-down list of states, then choose a city and a local website listed under that city. For example, if California is chosen, Bakersfield is the first city listed. Under the city name are links to find the gas prices, including BakersfieldGasPrices.com. Clicking on that link takes the user to a list of gas stations and their prices, listed low to high. Tabs allow the user to choose from regular, mid-grade or premium gas, as well as diesel.
