To check the status of a flight on Icelandair, go to the official website, and click on the Flight Status tab on the main page. From there, enter the route or flight number, and select whether the flight is departing or arriving. Click Submit to view the flight's status.
Alternatively, users can view all departing or arriving flights at a certain airport for the next 20 hours. Other online features include flight maps, flight schedules, online check-in and fare comparison. Fliers can also pre-order their in-flight meal in advance of their flight.
As of June 2015, Icelandair flies directly out of 16 cities in Canada and the United States, connecting them to 25 destinations in the United Kingdom and continental Europe. The airline offers a stopover of up to seven days in Iceland that can be used on the first flight, return flight or split between both. There is no additional airfare charged for this stopover, making it an unique addition to a normal overseas travel itinerary.
Icelandair includes services that allow customers to book vacation packages for their stopover, including hotel accommodations, car rentals and tours to make the most of the short stopover time. Tours include visits to natural attractions and walking tours of capital city, Reykjavik.
