What Is the Bluegreen Vacation Club?

Quick Answer

The BlueGreen Vacation Club is a real estate-based vacation ownership program where a member's deeded vacation ownership interest is converted into points for the member to use at any hotel in the BlueGreen Vacation Club network. This gives members a flexible option to vacation ownership, allowing them to choose the resort, season and length of their vacation.

Members buy into the BlueGreen Vacation Club by purchasing an initial ownership, which is the week and unit listed in the deed. The deeded week and unit are assigned a certain number of points for the owner to use throughout the BlueGreen network. Points are usually awarded on a annual basis, but may be on a biennial or triennial basis as well. Members pay annual club dues as well as maintenance fees on the underlying deeded vacation ownership interest, usually on an annual basis.

Member's have booking priority for their deeded week and unit, but can book at any BlueGreen resort up to 11 months before the start of their vacation. As of 2015, the BlueGreen Vacation Club network consisted of 60 resorts through the US and in the Caribbean, plus club members also have access to another 4,000 resorts through exchange programs, such as Resort Condominiums International. Points are also used toward cruises and other travel benefits.
