One fact about Bike Week in Ocean City, Maryland, is that it is an annual event held during the fall season. The Ocean City Bike Week, or the OC Bikefest, is one of the largest biking events in the region, known for drawing hundreds of thousands of bikers from across the country.
Another fact about the OC Bikefest is that it is one of the two competing motorcycle events in the region along with Delmarva Bike Week. Launched in 2010, the OC Bikefest is a considerably younger event than the Delmarva Bike Week, which started in 2000. In 2013, just when the OC Bikefest was entering its third year, its organizer, the OC Jams LLC, decided to buy the Delmarva event. The latter moved to Salisbury and other locations after the Harley Davidson dealership in Ocean City closed down in 2010.
Though a single organizer runs them, the OC Bikefest and the Delmarva Bike Week remain as two separate events with a single purpose: to bring the crowd to the Ocean City inlet, the central location of the bikefest and the place where the majority of the entertainment takes place. Both the Delmarva Bike Week and OC Bikefest help raise funds for nonprofit organizations represented at the event.
