As of June 2015, Newark is New Jersey's most populated city with over 277,000 residents. Other large cities in the state are Jersey City, Paterson, Elizabeth and Trenton.
Newark is home to the Newark Liberty International Airport and the Prudential Center, where the NHL's New Jersey Devils play. It is only about eight miles from Manhattan. Jersey City is nearly as large as Newark, with a population of about 250,000. It is along the Hudson River and also not far from New York City. With 85,000 residents, Trenton is not as populated as the other cities, but it is the state capitol.
