As of 2015, the most populous city in Mexico is Mexico City. Iztapalapa and Ecatepec are the next two most populous, while Guadalajara and Puebla complete the top five.
The population of Mexico City is more than 12 million, far surpassing any other city in the country. Iztapalapa and Ecatepec each have slightly more than 1.8 million residents. The population of Guadalajara is 1.64 million while Puebla has nearly 1.6 million residents as well. Other large Mexican cities include Ciudad Juarez with 1.5 million residents, Tijuana with 1.38 million residents and Ciudad Nezahualcoyotl with a population of nearly 1.2 million. The cities Gustavo A. Madero, Monterrey and Leon also have populations of more than 1 million.
