Full Answer

Property owners who participate in the RCI Points program get an annual allotment of points to use. The number of points owners get is based on supply and demand at their resort as well as the resort's location and quality and type of unit. Unused points can roll over to the following year, and owners can borrow points against their expected total for next year.

Points can be used to book stays at over 4,000 resorts throughout the world. Members normally book for a week at a time, but it is possible to book stays as short as one night at some properties. Most of the properties that accommodate short stays are in the United States.

Current RCI partner offers can be seen by logging into the RCI website and navigating to the "Air, Car, Cruise & More" page. As of June 2015, over 42,000 hotel properties participate. Some other partners are Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando, Avis and Budget. Most of the major North American airlines also participate.
