The Choice Privileges rewards program allows guests at Choice properties to earn points for their stays, which can be redeemed for free nights or other rewards. The physical card is not completely necessary, as guests can book online by logging into their Choice Privileges account.
Membership in the program is free. Guests earn points for each hotel stay at a Choice property. The amount of points earned varies depending on the property, with the budget properties, such as Econo Lodge and Rodeway Inn, granting fewer points than the higher-end properties. Points can eventually be redeemed for free stays or discounts at Choice hotels as well as for a range of other merchandise, such as gift cards with major retailers.
Choice Privileges members also move up in a tiered system as they collect stays at Choice properties. 10 stays per calendar year grants them Gold status, 20 stays grants Platinum status and 40 stays grants Diamond status. Each tier has added perks, such as a complimentary USA Today newspaper, a guaranteed late check-out and small bonuses to points earned for each stay. Stays that are booked using rewards points count toward annual tier status, which is somewhat unusual for hotel rewards programs.
