America the Beautiful pass holders do not have to pay fees to enter national parks and other federal recreation areas. One non-commercial vehicle and up to three other adults are also usually allowed entry at no charge. A second motorcycle rider may also be admitted if both motorcycles arrive at the same time.
While the pass grants free admission to parks, it does not cover the full range of amenity fees, such as the cost of a campsite. The senior pass provides discounts on some of these fees, however, including up to a 50 percent discount for expanded amenity fees such as camping, swimming, boat launch and specialized interpretive services. The 50 percent discount is generally good for a single campsite occupied by the pass holder and for guided tours at most parks. Discounts on transportation, concessions and special use permits vary from location to location. Seniors must be age 62 or older to be able to purchase a senior pass.Learn more about Geography
