Bellingrath Gardens is located in Theodore, Alabama, near Mobile. It's a 65-acre public garden that includes the historic home of Walter and Bessie Bellingrath and borders the Fowl River.
Visitors to Bellingrath Gardens should set aside two hours to tour the garden and another half-hour to tour the Bellingrath Museum Home. Plants bloom year-round, resulting in different displays as the seasons change. The Magnolia Cafe serves lunch and refreshments. Reservations are not required, and tickets can be purchased on site. All the pathways through the Gardens are wheelchair accessible but the Bellingrath Home is not. Pets are prohibited on the grounds.
During the holiday season, Bellingrath Gardens boasts more than 3 million lights and more than 1,000 displays. Other special events highlighting the history of the property and the seasons take place throughout the year.
