Two popular beaches near Tallahassee, Florida, are Keaton Beach and Dekle Beach. There are also several wildlife management areas and coves that offer beaches.
Keaton Beach is located halfway between Steinhatchee and Perry and is known for year-round fishing. The beach itself is a natural wild beach, but the site does offer public restrooms, shaded picnic areas, a fishing pier and a boat ramp.
Although officially named a beach, Dekle Beach offers limited opportunities for swimming and sunbathing. The beach is a perfect place for scalloping and boating.
Other prime areas where visitors can find recreation, relaxation and sandy shores include Big Bend Wildlife Management Area and Hagen's Cove, an excellent spot for bird watching and playing in the shallow waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
