Some attractions in Arkansas are the Josephine Tussaud Wax Museum, Buffalo National River and the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. The Walmart Museum is also located in Arkansas.
The Josephine Tussaud museum in Hot Springs, Arkansas, features many celebrities and political figures, including President Jimmy Carter, Liz Taylor, Prince Charles, and John, Robert and Edward Kennedy.
The Buffalo National River goes through Arkansas, which was also the first national river in the United States. It spans about 150 miles through the Arkansas Ozarks. There is wildlife, fishing and rock climbing near the river. Visitors can also go horseback riding, rafting and canoeing.
The Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art was started by Walmart’s heiress, Alice Walton. It included a collection of colonial era to modern day works of art.
Arkansas is the birthplace of Walmart, which opened up in Bentonville, Arkansas, as Walton’s. There is still a Walton’s located in the area where visitors can view where it all started. It is no longer a retail store but instead a visitor’s center that talks about the story of how Walmart came to be. There is a small museum setup, including the office where the head of Walton’s came to create Walmart.
