Aquatica Orlando markets the Dolphin Plunge as the waterpark?s most popular attraction. The ride consists of two enclosed water slides that take riders underwater and through the habitat of Commerson?s dolphins, a species native to sub-Antarctic regions. Riders move rapidly through the tube slides in a reclined position while watching speedy, playful dolphins swimming alongside the ride. Similarly, the Loggerhead Lane attraction carries visitors along a lazy river, navigating through an underwater habitat surrounded by strategically constructed tanks filled with colorful tropical fish.
As of 2015, one of the park?s newest thrill rides is Ihu?s Breakaway Falls, a tower-drop attraction that stretches nearly eight stories high. Each rider enters a tubelike chamber known as a breakaway box, and after a short countdown, the operator randomly releases each rider into a freefall slide by retracting the floor of the chamber. The park also offers wave pools, Kata's Kookaburra Cove for young children and several variations of raft rides, such as HooHoo Run and Tassie's Twisters. The Walhalla Wave raft ride takes place inside a six-story maze, where the rushing water carries riders through tunnels and winding pathways.Learn more about Geography
