Parrot Jungle Island is a zoo located three miles away from the port. It is set on 18.6 acres of land and houses over 3,000 species of exotic animals and 500 plant species. The zoo is also home to the Miami Seaquarium.
The Miami Dade College Museum of Art is located one mile away from the Port of Miami. It is found inside a National Historic Landmark building dating back to 1925 called the Freedom Tower. The building's design is modeled after the Bell Tower of the Cathedral of Seville located in Spain. The museum contains a 6-foot, pig-shaped bank and a two-story sandcastle among its 17 permanent exhibits.
Visitors to the Port of Miami can also visit the Bayside Marketplace. The location provides shops and restaurants for a one-stop location for shopping, dining and entertainment.
