Anaheim is a city situated in southern California and is part of Orange County. The Santa Ana Mountains are located near this city, which is the tenth largest in the state. It has a population of nearly 328,014 inhabitants, as of 2015.
Anaheim was founded in 1857 by 50 German families as a colony for German farmers. The city's name comes from the combination of the words "Ana" for the mountains of this area and "heim" that means home in German. Anaheim was incorporated in 1876. It had a population of about 880 residents. Since that time, the city has grown significantly and is currently an industrial center with companies that manufacture products like electronics and aircraft parts.
Anaheim also has beautiful beaches and is popular as a tourist destination because the Disneyland Resort and many theme parks are found in this region.
