The Coast Starlight provides daily service, passing through Portland, Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay area. The route gives passengers scenic coastal and mountain views.

Passengers can select from sleeper or coach seating options. The Superliner sleeping car comes with complimentary meals, private bed and private toilet and/or shower facilities. Passengers can select between roomettes featuring two reclining seats that convert to bunk beds at night; and bedroom suites with sofas, arm chairs and beds for up to four individuals. All sleeper options comes with optional turn-down service.

Passengers traveling by coach can select a seat on the single-level Viewliner or the bi-level Superliner car. Both options offer large, roomy seats accompanied by optional seat-side dining service. The upper level seats of the Superliner car provide better opportunities to catch panoramic views. Alternatively, passengers can enjoy the coastal views from the Sightseer Lounge Car.
