The Airport Club Access program website lists participating airport lounges, and American Express also provides a phone number to find available airport lounges. Cardholders enter lounges by showing their American Express Platinum Card, government issued I.D. and a same-day boarding pass. Cardholders need to apply separately to participate in Priority Pass Select lounges, for which American Express provides online applications.

Most lounges allow American Express Platinum cardholders to bring guests into the lounge, though each has its own rules. Centurion lounges allow immediate family or up to two other travel companions into lounges at no charge. Airspace lounges allow up to two guests at no charge with variable fees for additional guests. Delta Sky Club lounges allow the purchase of guest passes for immediate family or up to two traveling companions. Priority Pass Select lounges charge guests to the cardholder's Platinum card.

Some lounges may have additional rules and requirements. Green and Gold American Express cardholders are not eligible for the Airport Club Access Program. Lounge amenities vary by airport location.
