Several properties, including the Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island, Hampton Inn and Suites, Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort and Elizabeth Pointe Lodge, are beach front resorts. Each of the bed and breakfasts on Amelia Island is housed in a historic building or home and is a unique property. Some are located across a small bridge from Amelia Island in Fernandina Beach.

Camping is available at Fort Clinch State Park in the center of Amelia Island. There are two campgrounds on the property: Amelia River along the St. Mary's River and Atlantic Beach near the sand dunes. Amelia River has 43 campsites, while Atlantic Beach has 21 recreational vehicle campsites and six tent-only campsites. Both campsites feature climate-controlled restrooms with showers, laundry facilities, utility hookups, potable water and dump stations. Vending machines, picnic tables and fire pits are also available. Reservations may be made in advance through ReserveAmerica.
