Activities near Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park near Bessemer, Alabama including Alabama Splash Adventure theme park and waterpark, the Bessemer Hall of History museum and several golf courses, including the Frank House Municipal Golf Club, Bent Brook Golf Course and Oxmoor Valley Golf Course. Bessemer is also home to many sights, such as the Sadler Home, Owen Home and McAdory House historic homes, and Downtown Bessemer, listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
A number of the Bessemer area attractions and activities are found within Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park itself. Some such attractions include the Alabama Iron and Steel Museum, the Tannehill Sweet Shoppe and the Tannehill Miniature Railway. Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park is home to the Pioneer Farm at Tannehill, with an operating blacksmith shop and a number of buildings from the 19th and 20th centuries. Other sites to visit are the May Plantation Gin House, the John Wesley Hall Grist Mill and the 1879 Edwards House – also the park’s headquarters. A number of events and activities also take place near Bessemer at the Watermark Place Events and Conference Center and the Bessemer Civic Center.
